Daily weigh-in and calories for the day

Do y’all ever eat more on days that you are weighing less than the low end of your preferred weight range? I’ve done that today. I’m tracking but still hope I’m not playing with fire. This whole maintenance thing is rife with opportunity for self-sabotage

No...bodyweight fluctuates naturally. You can't look at the day to day...you have to watch the trend. I can be up or down 0-3 Lbs day to day and even more than that sometimes.
If you're overall trend over the weeks is down and you're wanting to maintain then you know you need to eat more. One day of data is meaningless.6 -

Thank you. I’m sure you’re right. I was hungrier, too, so that was also a motivating factor. In the spirit of being introspective, I was fatigued. Napping may have been more appropriate than adding calories got my breakfast (I did both). I have stayed within MFP calorie range, though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Prime example of weight fluctuations is that yesterday I was bang on at 158lbs today and weighing at the same time I now weight 161 and I know I haven't put on 3lbs of fat on overnight. I just keep it at maintainance and eat back the exercise cals3

You might look at some weight trending apps. I use Happy Scale. I weigh every day and enter my weight. The app shows the trend over time. It has really relieved some of the anxiety I had about daily fluctuations.6

I eat more when I exercise more like when I run for 60 minutes, generally once a week.
Lately, I’ve been below my low weight range and tell myself to eat more using that low weight as my benchmark.
But, I guard the discipline I’ve built and am careful and watchful of any behaviors that could be indicative of relapse with regard to eating that, if not checked, would send me back to eating more than needed.
I like the way my body currently looks more than a couple extra slices of pizza or [insert your favorite food] and it’s easier to run and do pull-ups and bar dips.5 -
Yes, thanks. I’ve been using Weigh Ingarystrickland357 wrote: »You might look at some weight trending apps. I use Happy Scale. I weigh every day and enter my weight. The app shows the trend over time. It has really relieved some of the anxiety I had about daily fluctuations.

I did, a bit, when I was persistently several pounds under my desired goal weight for several weeks. One day, on its own, isn't enough to trigger action.
Slow increase that keeps increasing and goes past top end? Sure, best to adjust. Same on the slow decline below low end that keeps going, unless one wants to be leaner.
Quick jump above top end or below bottom end of maintenance range, suddenly, without eating thousands of calories over maintenance to explain it: Just water weight or digestive contents. Why over-react?
And, in maintenance, if extra hungry for an exceptional reason, on an isolated day? Sure, eat a little more. It's life, not a straitjacket.8
