I find it pretty useful, I'm active everyday. Not in all the forums, but I poke around and see what is out there.0

It is very active. A lot of us are around every day and quite active on the forums.
There a lot of very knowledgeable people in this community. I find it very useful to prowl around the forums and read the responses to questions. Use the search function to find the threads that are discussing the things you are interested in.
Look for the responses from people who have a lot of posts and get a lot of likes. These are usually long time community members who have been there and done that and therefore know what they are talking about.
You can also find friends that have common goals and will give support.
Just to explain if you didnt know yet. The "Woo" button is not a good thing. If a post gets a lot of "Woo's" It probably contains misinformation or bad advice.
