So I’ve been roped into going to Outback Steakhouse for a friend’s birthday. I’m a vegetarian and I try to eat vegan as much as possible. I’ll eat a little bit of dairy but would feel like absolute *kitten* if I ate an alfredo pasta (the only vegetarian entree menu I’ve found). I’m maintaining on 1600-2000 calories kcal per day so I’d like to not have a meal over 1000 calories. All of the salads seem sad. Right now I’m leaning towards just getting sides, a plain sweet potato, broccoli and green beans plus some appetizer bread for around 700 kcal. I’ll settle for it but it seems boring and I don’t want to look like some type of vegetable freak. Anyone have any ideas??

I think what you are suggesting is about all you can do. Yes, bit boring but it's one meal and your options are limited.

Do they have desserts - if you don't mind more calories, you could make the experience less boring by adding dessert?

Too bad if anyone sees you as a ' vegetable freak' - I would just do it without any fuss and if anyone says anything just say you are vegetarian.
Which you are, so no problem just saying so.

    Salad snd baked potato.

If you see an older man destroying a full rack of baby back BBQ ribs, that’s me, wave and say hello.
