Setting calories on mfp

Hi
If I want to loose a min of 1lb every week, I do an office job all week but consider myself quite an active lovely person and aim to do a min of 10k steps a day... Would you set your calorie goal at what mfp says for 1lb weight loss 1350 or would you set it higher eg 1700 and sync your fitbit to it so your active calories automatically reduce you closer to the 1350 goal?
Psychologically.. Seing and being able to eat 1700 per day makes the task seem much more doable no?
I want to get this right and not have to change my method halfway through if possible.
Thanks :)

If you have your Fitbit synced it doesn't matter too much which setting you use, as long as you have negative adjustments enabled. As you said, it is all psychological. Just remember that if you have it set as active you will start the day with less than 1700 calories as you aren't getting the assumed steps per hour while asleep. You will also lose some calories at the end of the day for the same reason.

I'm not sure I understand about setting it to active? I've set it to lightly active anyway so I don't think I will loose any calories?? and I manually set my calories at 1700. For lightly active on a loss of 1lb per week mfp said 1350 calories. I figured 1350 plus my 10k steps would be around the 1700.
