Just went to night shift

Hi

Ok, so for the last eight months I've been the "FedEx Guy." That is a fun job and HIGHLY active. However the pay sucks.

So now I'm back on nights driving 18 wheelers for FedEx.

Since Dec I've dropped over 80 lbs and have 60 more to go.

I'm really concerned about the shift in sleeping habits and the transition from an active job to a sedentary job. I'll be sitting in the drivers seat for about six hours a night.

My current routine is to jog four miles four times a week and I am starting a weightlifting routine as well. A split routine with two muscle groups per day, three exercises of three sets each for each group, also four times a week. The fifth workout day is spent hiking here in VA or something else active. Not necessarily cardio but just "active."

During the FedEx door to door time I was merely jogging three miles three times a week with no weightlifting to speak of.

All that seems good to me. But I am open to suggestions. I run after work in the morning and lift weights same day, after I wake up in the afternoon.

Meal planning is killing me. I tend to be awake for 16 to 18 hours and work and jog are the last things I do before bed. Any suggestions on meal planning for such a schedule?

I'm just putting this all out here so someone who has worked nights or has some good ideas can chime in.

thanks

Chad
