Depression medication causes weight gain by either increasing appetite, reducing energy levels or both. You seem to focus a lot on arbitrary things like meal plans, low carb and fasting when weight loss is really all about having a calorie deficit. You can eat anything you want as long as you're consuming fewer calories than you burn. Exercise is also not essential for weight loss. First and foremost what does MFP tell you to eat to lose? You should get a food scale and begin weighing all of your foods to accurately track your intake and eat to that number.7

You have mentioned working out and you mentioned what kinds of foods you try to eat, but you haven't said anything about using the app to count your calories and hit a specific number each day. are you using a food scale so you can enter into MFP exactly how many grams of, say, a specific veggie or protein you are eating? if you have a diary open to the public, we can look at what you are logging and give you tips. also, just my two cents, whether you eat carbs for dinner or save them for earlier in the day has nothing to do with weight loss. it's calories in vs calories out.5

So to lose i have to consume 1200 calories most days i consume less1

If you don't have one--buy a digital food scale and start weighing and measuring everything you eat and drink. Do that for 2 weeks, and then report back. Good luck.1

Make sure you're doing the basics right (i.e. weigh everything using a food scale, choose correct database entries on mfp and accurately log your exercise).3 -

What's your age, height and weight? What did MFP tell you to eat? 1200 calories is the bare minimum and you should never eat less than that. However you could very likely be earing more, theres no way to know unless you're using a food scale.1 -
If the exercise is new or increased in the last month your muscles are likely retaining water temporarily which will mask weight loss. this will flush out soon.brookey575 wrote: »So to lose i have to consume 1200 calories most days i consume less
i am 5'1 and don't do much purposeful exercise other than walking and lose at 1400cal/day. so you probably don't need to eat 1200 a day to lose, and eating LESS than 1200 puts your at risk for not getting enough nutrients to sustain your body.
do you use a food scale? for all foods? as you get closer to goal we need to be more careful in measuring intake and logging accurately.0
