Need some help about calorie intake

I am currently at home with my baby daughter, we're not at the "running around after her" stage yet, but I do housework everyday. I also exercise 4 times a week (burning between 200-400 calories a time).
I am told I need to eat 1200 a day on this website to lose 2lbs a week, I usually eat about 1300-1400. If I exercise I always eat back what I have exercised. I am struggling to lose the weight I have gained despite being very good at logging everything.
I'm a tall girl (5ft11) and I weigh 196lbs (14 stone) so after reading a few posts on here I wonder if I need to eat more calories to lose weight?
I've never really dieted before as before my baby I was one of those lucky people who can eat anything. Now I have baby weight and and a new found Thyroid problem (still sorting medication) just to add to things. I'm not sure if it's that that is causing me problems in losing weight or the calories.
I am not sure what to do, can anyone help?

Eating more has helped me more than eating less... After posting on here and getting some good tips I decided to eat at my resting metabolic rate and then exercise. It seems like it's tricking my messed up metabolism and I am losing after putting on 4 pounds eating at a strict 1200 and exercising an hour 5 days a week. I also eat CLEAN meaning no junk, nothing processed and personally I don't do any grains except a little brown rice sometimes and very rarely corn.0

Change to 'lose 1lb a week'. Much healthier. You're probably eating close to that anyway.0
