Well, I decided to try the weight loss again an after a week a hernia repops out so I have surgery on the 31st. Doctor said no exercises that involve the abdomen I always engaged my abs doing all forms of exercises. During breathing by tightening my abs. Beside walking running any ideas. Thx

I side with your doctor. Especially since he knows your history, type and severity of your hernia.

This is one of the few injuries that I don't feel comfortable working around since abs are used in everything basically to standing to loading weight.

I will say I wish you the best and a speedy recovery. I would certainly ask your surgeon when appropriate what timeline you will be able to return to lifting and at what degree. Your probably looking in the area of 4-8 weeks depending what number they feel comfortable with and their experience with people who train in your situation.

    Good luck.

Just focus on diet. I’d keep exercise on hold until the doc releases you.
