Alot of people seem to be confused with the keto lifestyle. Let this video clear things up. Best video I have seen explaining the overall keto lifestyle. If you aren't watching the whole video at least watch the first 10 minutes to gain some knowledge on it.

I'm all for people doing whatever eating plan works for them, and I try to be open to ideas however much I disagree with them.
Saying keto dieters don't lose muscle or have a reduced metabolic rate after weight loss is shady at best. This implies that no other diet/lifestyle can provide that. Happens right around the 9-minute mark and I let him finish that thought before I turned it off.
Increase your protein intake instead of fat and see if you retain muscle mass. Increase your weight training program on whatever random diet and see how your metabolic rate changes...
If you like eating fats, great, do keto. If you don't, then maybe don't do keto. Either way, your weight loss/gain will be determined by how much of whatever it is you are eating, not by what it is.27 -

But, no,sorry,not watching even 10 minutes of something that I am not interested in doing.
Good luck to those who enjoy eating keto and do find it a successful strategy.
But me personally - quite happy and successful eating very non-keto so it's not for me.12 -

And thats quite alright. This thread was really for peole who were curious, wanted more information or that are already into the keto lifestyle.9 -
Also, you could just go stand in the supermarket near the avocados and someone will come along and tell you way more about keto than you ever hoped to learn.30

I agree that keto is not the only diet that can provide that. It's not a magic bullet. Keto isn't for everyone. I would go so far as to say it's not for most people. I think if you have 50+ pounds to lose and/or have weight and lifestyle-related health problems, it's something you may want to look into, with your doctor's permission of course. Beyond that, everyone should research thoroughly and do what's best for them.5 -
