Can't see to connect with Pacer step app

I have Pacer installed on my phone, when I try to get MFP to connect, it just takes me to 'install' pacer, which then opens, but won't connect. Any ideas? I could never make it work on my old Motorola, but now I have a new Huawei, I fancied getting it connected. I have MapMyWalk attached just fine.

    If you're doing it through app try it through website and vice-versa I had similar issues trying to set up Garmin originally.

    Same thing on website - just insists on downloading the app all the time, but doesn't connect. Oh well, doesn't matter I guess. I've managed just fine without it.
