How do you use the entire body for push ups.
    Arms and shoulders - o.k
    Chest - ok.
    Core - Yes.
    But the thighs, and legs?

    Cross country skiing.
    Snowshoeing if you use poles.
Hiking that involves a certain degree of scrambling up hills, hauling yourself up with arms.
    Rock climbing.

For me, forearm planks with one leg raised works. Uses all the major muscle groups, especially if you lift your leg as high as possible (without compromising form) and squeeze your glutes.

Rowing is all leg push, upper body pull: Still need other exercise for balance. It's only sorta whole body.
