Looking to find peoe who will help guide me through this journey.

Hi everyone. When I first started MFP my main goal was to keep track of my intake of food. Lately I feel that I am pretty much getting the hang of it but the problem is that I feel that I am not making the best choices over all food wise. I am about 336 Lbs, 4'11" and diabetic. I struggle with always feeling hungry and never satisfied as well as feel guilty at my food choices. I love the friends I have made on here but am hoping to gain some friends who can give me some guidance as well as check in with me and help guide me to make better choices.

Are you looking for a nutrition coach? If so, check out MacroLab Nutrition. I've been with them almost a year and have really learned a lot about food choices as well as what my body needs. Check out www.macrolab.com.

Do you feel like you are making bad food choices regarding diabetes or are you struggling to lose the weight because of bad food choices?

If you are struggling with hunger but still eating too much to lose weight, keep an eye on your protein, fat, and fiber. One or more of those three are usually what fills people up, so if you are typically low in any of them, bringing them up to at least your MFP goal may help.

For weight loss, all you need is a calorie deficit, you don't have to eat specific foods. You have enough weight to lose that you could safely lose weight quickly, like 3 lbs per week. But if you are struggling, it might not be a bad idea to dial it back to something easier (like 1 lb per week) until you get on a roll, then crank it up more.

I'm not a medical pro, so can't say much about food choices around diabetes. Is there any chance your doctor might give you a referral to a RD or a Diabetes Specialist?

This is way easier said than done, but try to remove the emotion from food in whatever ways you can. Guilt, pride, comfort, happiness... investing too much of any of those into your food choices is a treacherous road. This is a learning process for ALL of us. We all have days we screw up royally, eat our feelings, etc and the key is to forgive yourself, figure out why it happened, learn from it, and move on.
