All the time. I block people if they are mean, hateful, or rude to me. Why not?

I question why are people so mean all the time. To be honest, it seems to be a disconsolate cry across the internet more so now a days then ever. Although the issue may be more prevalent online due to the anonymity and accessibility, it is by no means limited to online scenarios. Yet, even if people deny it, other people's meanness impacts us more than it really needs to. The more that people can recognize that the meanness they experience from others is either unintentional or is more about the mean person themselves rather than about them, the less they personalize the meanness and the less impact it has on them. Hence, I don’t feel the need to necessarily block someone because I won’t allow it to affect me to a point in which I feel the need to do so.
