Why do you need the shake to begin with? Is it because you don't get in enough protein from food?

what @ninerbuff said above. Only need a shake if you can't eat all your protein. I prefer to chew my protein.

Maybe... just keep it simple. It doesn't get much simpler than the Premier Protein shakes at COSTCO... I prefer chocolate (preferably ice cold). IF you have time get some Metrex Protein powder (chocolate again), and mix it with milk and a banana... it's tasty and fills you up for a long while. SO...the only real question is whether you drink it BEFORE or AFTER your workout?

Love my breakfast shake, over 1000 calories

    1 cup quick oats
    1 cup frozen berries
    1 scoop whey protein powder
    2 tbsp peanut butter
3 spoons of plain Greek yogurt
    2 cups of whole milk

    Enjoy!!

Like others have said, protein shakes should be used as a supplement if you are unable to get enough protein through a normal diet. If you decide to add shakes to your diet, make sure you read the labels, some have a lot of sugar.

Don't need them. Eat your food, lift and get adequate rest...

    My favorite every morning:

    2c-Almond Milk
    1c-Frozen Blueberries
46g-Optimum Nutrition Gold Protein (Vanilla Ice Cream)
    32g-Peanut Butter

Training Days I eat more carbs:
    40g-Old Fashion Oatmeal
    100g-Frozen Banana
