Yoga for beginners

Hi there,

I’m really interested in taking up yoga, but with 2 small children, I’m going to need to start at home. Can anyone recommend any YouTube or online yoga classes for beginners please?

Many thanks! xx

Down Dog is a free app that creates yoga routines.

The "Intro to yoga" app by Down Dog is great! The videos are beautiful and really helpful at getting alignment right. Also, the app has three routines with three sessions each and at varying lengths of time to get you started off slow. You can buy the full "down dog" app if you like it which has hundreds of different routines/practices.

If you've never done yoga, I recommend taking at least one beginner class in person if you can so you can get a handle on the moves and talk to an instructor about any modifications. Yin/Restorative or a Hatha practice is a good place to start.

doyogawithme.com is great! It has a lot of free videos and subscription ones too if you really like it. I only do the free ones right now but they have yoga for all abilities and body-types.

I subscribe to Gaia TV and love it. They had a deal when I signed up that the first 3 months is $20 and then $9.99 a month after. They have over 8,000 videos to choose from and you can Sort by experience level, duration, etc. I also purchased Yoga Burn from Zoe Bray Cotton. Love love it

I also like Tim Senesi. You can Google him and find his beginner videos on YouTube.
