How much water should I drink while on a diet and exercise?

Drink when you’re thirsty and keep an eye on your urine color. If it’s dark other than first thing in the morning, drink more.1

I often feel dehydrated yet my Urine as indicated by apullum seems to show I drink enough... its so confusing, I only consume about 1 litre of water and probably another 1 litre in other fluids like tea/normal and herbal

What do you mean by “feel dehydrated”? If you are still thirsty after drinking 2 liters per day, it’s worth checking with your doctor. Excessive thirst is a symptom of various health problems, notably diabetes. Another thing to consider is if you are sweating a lot. That could mean that you need to replace electrolytes, not just water.1
