My boobs feel like this...

Crazy_Punching_Bags_11.jpg

How much longer does this pain last? Can I expect it throughout the whole term?

Thank you for being my 'Our Bodies Ourselves' book MFP.

Lol, just wait until your engorged. This is nothing! :)

But really, no clue....I never experienced the boob thing early in pregnancy.

Never had it during. Only after, while breastfeeding.

Mine feel like that if the baby goes too long without eating!

It ended or me at about fourteen weeks. It was smooth sailing, even through the first couple days of breastfeeding. and then I was introduced to Dante's Inferno when the little badger latched on after my milk came in.

I have two kids. Second one was born January this year. I still remember the tenderness, it only lasted for a few weeks though. They also went from a D to a DD.... which wasn't pleasant. Trust me if this is your first getting your milk will be far more painful then the tenderness of pregnancy. Ice packs ice packs ice packs.

Very true!! I had big porn star looking boobs when my milk first came in, but they hurt so bad! Although in thinking back on it, the nipple soreness of breastfeeding takes the cake!!

I'm pregnant now, 6 weeks 4 days and mine only hurt right after I take my bra off but damn is that enough. My nipples also get hard at random times and that hurts pretty bad but other than that, it's not a constant pain.

Most definitely!! My first was born two months early, so I was skinny again right away with ginormous rock hard boobs (he was in the nicu and I didn't have a pump and he couldn't nurse yet). I looked ridiculous!

The feeling of watermelons on my chest were how I diagnosed both of my pregnancies. Really hurt when the bra came off, and it lasted about 4 mos. It helped me to wear a "sleep bra" like the AHH Bra when I wasn't "dressed."

From memory, an old fashion remedy was to apply whole cabbage leaves

Luckily I didn't get the boob pain during the pregnancy. I didn't even notice them enlarging to an f cup until I had to buy new bras near the end. It is after birth when the milk comes in and you become engorged. Dear lord, it's like water balloons at their bursting point.

I'm three months after the birth of my little girl and its still like that. Giant boobs bursting at the seams that you would rather never be touched ever. Sorry :/

I've had three kids & each time the breast pain in pregnancy lasted 'til around the end of the first trimester. It's just the hormones charging through your body & may even out. Hang in there.

Mine were very sore with my first pregnancy, but it went away after the first trimester. The second time they had an overall dull ache that lasted until about week 18.

And I wouldn't say engorgement is that bad so long as you can nurse or otherwise express your milk, but breastfeeding hurts at first even with a good latch. Eventually that goes away, and it doesn't hurt.

Hug, I totally feel your pain. Feels like someone is trying to rip them off sometimes. :( I didn't have breast pain when I was pregnant with my first. This pregnancy is way different. Just wait till your milk comes....fun times.

    Hi,
Being an OB nurse (worked in an office as well as 30 + years of L&D and 4 kids later lol), it varies with each pregnancy. Usually tho by 12 weeks at the latest, new mommies to be are relieved of the sorness, tenderness of the breasts, very supportive bras help tremendously as well as "hands off" for a few weeks from daddy. Also standing in the shower with breasts not hitting the water will help :) As far as through out the pregnancy just the normal growing, stretching again each of us are different but I can't encourage a good fitting bra & support enough.
Once you deliver, if you are breast feeding, again support is a must because otherwise engorgement will be much worse as well as soreness & pain. So put your nursing bra on and wear it 24/7 amap to support & prevent more pain. With a normal delivery it usually takes about 3 days for your milk to come in, C-Section can be 4 or 5 depending on certain factors, but usually 3-4 if a scheduled C-Section. If you have had a baby before your milk can come in a day earlier than above. The engorgement happens because the baby isn't able or willing to empty the breasts quick enough once your milk comes in (very normal) but the more frequent you nurse the less engorgement. We can talk about that later if you want to friend me. :)) But for now, good bra support, warm baths & time will help. I wish you a beautiful pregnancy & a speedy & beautiful birth. It's the best job ever to help mommies to be become mommies ! xxxx's Kelly

My tenderness went away after the first trimester. Then after I had the babies it multiplied by a million. I could barely take a shower for the first week after they were born without crying. That's what happens when you take 34Cs and try to make them into 36Fs in a short time. And I leaked before I even gave birth. I was such a hot mess, but it's so worth it. Congratulations!!

It was a first trimester problem with all three of mine. And yeah, what people are saying about the milk coming it. Holy schnikees! For now, get a good sports bra that gives some compression. That helps a lot, and you'll need it again for a week or so after birth. And the cabbage leaves suggestion is great! I did that with my 3rd. So soothing!

    Good luck, mama! :flowerforyou:

Mine were like this the first trimester... It went away the second trimester... And then it was back with a major vengeance in the third trimester... However, I think the third trimester was more because my milk came in and filled my boobs to the max. I found joy squirting my husband with the colostrum/milk.

I had the soreness last until wk 12 I believe. I had oversupply of milk so engorgement was no joke. I still have oversupply, my lo is 7months and if I don't pump on time I get that engorged feeling. I'm.looking forward to them shrinking again after I wean around 12months.
