Question about logging calories burned from job..

Hey guys. I work a very active job and I was wondering if anyone logs calories burned by their physical job? I’m not sure how I would calculate it anyway, but I just realized I have to burn a lot of calories at my job.

i move heavy furniture and walk 10-20k steps while at work often up and down stairs. Id likely die if i didnt eat more since i baseline 1200. I got myself a fitbit and try to eat 200-800 extra calories depending on what i have done. After a while collecting data and learning to be honest with myself over my activity i eventually learned what to add. I started just sort of adding but ONLY if it was a healthy small meal. Im more free to eat snacks now but it really helped me be honest if i was hungry or just wanted junk food because my blood sugar gets all wonky sometimes after a rough day up and down stairs and lifting heavy.
I would track it for sure, How you track it is up to you. And trial and error. It really depends on your true hunger levels and your true activity. I wouldnt like, Force myself to eat. But i would make sure im being honest with myself so i dont overeat or burnout from eating to little.1 -
if you have your MFP activity level set correctly - that takes into account daily movement from job etc - from what ou said, i would start at active and adjust up if needed1

I would suggest getting a fitbit or something of the sort to keep track of steps/active minutes and calories burned. That way you can make sure you are getting enough nutrients to makeup for what you burn each day and not have to fool with extra exercise if you're getting it in at work.1

Thank you so much for this reply. I just realized I exercise and have a really active job, so I was at a loss if I just adjusted the activity level or documented the amount of calories that were being burned. Thanks for the advice.0 -

Definitely a good idea. Thanks for the advice. I have a gear 2 that I could possibly use in the time that I don’t have a Fitbit.0
