Dieting while serving/waiting job

Hey guys anyone else have this issue. Has anyone dieted while having a serving/waiting job? Where I work I don’t even get a break to eat and I get super light headed which temps me to want to splurge on non healthy food after work. How do you guys manage this?

You don't even get like a 10 minute break to have a snack?

I work part time doing bar/restaurant/functions and I find my issue is that I'm starving. I eat before work around 5-5.30pm but by the time 9pm comes round I'm so hungry and sometimes my snacks just don't cut it so I'll eat something else. Doesn't help that I have no willpower so if there is nice food leftover I'm so tempted to eat it. Monday night I ended up having a cheeseburger!

I know how hard it is to be able to get a break but is there somewhere you can stash your food and nibble on it every time you walk past?

Prepping ahead of time is key. I was a server for two years while I was in grad school. I had to make time (between shifts, class, and studying) to prep and pack meals and food so I didn't order fish and chips as my shift meal every night!
I gained weight because I forgot my prepped meals and ordered fish and chips all the time

I would mention that you get light headed to a supervisor. It is a safety concern and easily remedied with a quick snack that should not take any longer to consume than a restroom visit.

You're entitled to at least one 15 minute break in a 6 hour shift. Anything after 6 hours and your entitled to an unpaid lunch as well.

If it's possible, invest in some easy to snacks either stuff you make at home (e.g. sandwiches) or ready made stuff like protein bars and shakes and have those while you work.

And of course do take into consideration advice already given by others on here about talking to your boss about break requirements.
