I’ve set myself a 16 week challenge to loose man boobs and belly fat as turning 50 in 2 weeks. Any support or advice would be taken gratefully

Best advice I can give to someone that's just starting is to cut the refined sugar and processed foods down. Slowly at first, if you need to, but eventually you'll want to be eating mostly basic ingredients. Cook for yourself so you always know what's in your food. Best of luck!

I am going to go the opposite direction and say worry first and foremost about hitting your calorie goal, and not about whether what you eat is "good" or "bad" or "whole" or "clean". You lose weight by eating less calories than your body burns. Not by eating certain type of foods. Sure, nutrition is important, and it would be beneficial for your health to eat a balanced diet of nututritious foods, but the most important thing you can do for your health is lose the weight. So if you find there are certain foods, processed or not, that you have difficulty moderating, then you should remove those from your diet. But one of the most freeing things about calorie counting is that you can still eat the foods you enjoy as long as they fit within your goals.

Losing weight is first and foremost about calories. Set a realistic weekly goal and start logging, accurately and consistently. Start to learn from your logging - what foods fill you up, what foods are a waste of calories. Consider dropping the time element - weight loss doesn't happen on a schedule. You will have bad days, and that will slow you down, but it's still all good if you learn from it. IMHO learning how to eat for the rest of your life is just as important as losing weight in the first place, and that can take some trial-and-error which takes time.
