I don't want to be that girl

I've been around a while, and I've seen multiple groups of people come through mfp and stall out. I don't want to be another person that's just here to be here. I want to get this weight off once and for all. Is anyone else with me?

This unfortunately can often be a lonely road because many people just don't care to make this a lifestyle. My advice is to make yourself your biggest support, because nobody can take that away from you.
One day at a time, you can do it.14 -
I like this post.... "I don't want to be that girl...." what a great idea to vent OP. I'll add mine to yours..
I don't want to be that girl that whines about weight loss... says she's doing everything right but not losing but she's really not doing what it takes to get the job done. .... I don't want to be that girl that vents that she just ate a jar of peanut butter, and now what? .. yeah... I don't want to b that girl that keeps her sabotage food on hand and wonders why she can't lose her weight. I want to be the girl that clears the crap out of the house because she's getting down to business and kidding not one person..and mostly not herself.13 -
I don't want to be that girl either but I find having a buddy not really necessary but fun! Maybe I just like it cause I'm a single mom4

I'm the same guys...can I join you all? Elisa123gal I can relate to getting the house sorted. My weightloss definitely goes hand in hand with my motivation to be productive! Today I am going to write my list of jobs and get them done ober the next few weeks! Hopefully I will burn some calories doing it too. My problem is I have gained so much weight I struggle to bend and keep active! But I WILL do this - one day at a time! Thanks for this post! I love it - so let's get this weight off once and for all! 👍2

A couple of thoughts- if you don’t want to be among the constantly trying and failing, my own observation- embrace the idea that you will start a food diary and keep it going no matter what.
If you don’t see the point in that, that’s ok. But commit to at least a 3 month test. Then revisit to see if you’ve gotten anything out of it. If at some point you don’t know the calories for a meal or dish, make a good faith estimate and log it. If you forget at some point to log a meal or two, go back and do your best to fill it in. Run off the rails? Try to put a number on it and keep going.
When that voice in your head says it’s a waste of time, or it’s not working, push back. Keep at it because you decided to do it going in.
An aside- I find the computer and gadgets a pain sometimes. Most of my food diaries have been just crude lists with what I ate and numbers attached.
And try to accept that there’s really no once and for all in this. It’s always a two part process. Things we do to lose weight. And how we live with it. Find solutions you can live with and you will make your goals and be able to stay there.6 -
I'm with you I've been logging everything so diligently in the last 2.5 months. I want to lose this weight and keep it off. My main thing was not having the energy to do anything, let alone cook, because my fibro had gotten so out of hand. I've started with food only and have yet to add any exercise as I know that would make me give up faster. This week I have been adding some weight training and it seems to help a bit. Slow and steady to once and for all lose and keep this weight off.3

So, don't be that girl. Be the girl who makes a commitment to herself, builds a goal, and makes it! Don't worry about anyone else, and don't let anyone/anything get in the way of your goals. Fight through your difficulties. Use the forums to get the support you need, or talk to your doctor. But keep on your commitment; keep up your logs; be accountable.0
