A question, Marine Corps Marathon and a race recap

I've been asking for a lot of advice about marathon training, etc. I officially signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon in DC with my area running club. I am beyond excited. Anyone else running that??

Also, I PRd my half marathon yesterday. I'm still on cloud 9 from it. 2:02:59 (official race time) The runners high was real with this one. It was hilly and intense.

The question: I am averaging a 9:20ish half marathon, 8:50 5k. What would you pace for a full? I'm thinking 10:00. Realistic? Lower expectations??neszw57kejlo.jpg

It depends on your training. I usually double my half time and add 15-20 minutes, so your marathon time would be about 4:20-4:25 or a 9:55 - 10:00 mm pace. That assumes training at about 50 mpw at peak. If you're doing a Novice 1 plan, it would probably be a bit slower. Training for 10:00 marathon pace would be a bit conservative, but should work. If you can, run another race about 6 weeks before the marathon to see what your fitness is like at that point. Good luck and have fun.
