Hi Guys! I've gained a whopping 60 lbs in the last year. I was in an auto accident, and I need a new hip. I keep putting off the surgery because it freaks me out for some reason. I have trouble getting any exercise and I'm eating in place of moving. I've never been this over weight and out of shape. I'm starting to get my health back right now.

I started today too. Went over by 86 calories, but it's a start. Good luck with your journey. I've known several people who have had their hip replaced and they are so glad they did it!!0

Not had a hip done. But have had total knee replacementement. All I can tell you is that the only thing I regret is not having done it sooner. I was back to doing everything I was doing, plus things I had quit doing within a couple of months. About that time I started on a weight loss journey and dropped 50.pounds in 6 months. I have no doubts... I could not have done this without getting rid of the knee pain.
I can understand your fears, but remember that damaged joints get to a point where they will only get worse. You may lose the weight, but you will still be left with a bum hip that prevents you from doing things you would like to do. I really encourage you to have the surgery and reclaim your life.1
