How Long to Reverse Trip Off The Wagon

I've been off keto for a few weeks (maybe 3?) and even been eating white bread and potato chips for the past week. Now, for other reasons, I need a blood test to check cholesterol, blood sugar and all that. My LCHF doctor says it'll take me more than 2 weeks to undo the damage. Does anyone know roughly how long? He's happy for me to delay the blood test. I've googled without any joy. Thank you so much.

What damage did you do in 3 weeks?
Do you have a history of elevated blood levels (cholesterol, sugar)? Did you ask your doctor?4 -
Is this doctor a "weight loss specialist" or a PCP?
I do not believe that other than your blood glucose your can have a large impact on your health markers in one way or another is short spans of time.
This is not a test to try and cheat on. Some problems found in blood results need to be addressed immediately while others just require a course correction.4 -

What damage?3 -
@missysippy930 I don't know what 'damage' I've done, just that I would prefer to take my blood test after being keto again in case I get high readings for cholesterol or blood sugar. I had a rather high fasting blood sugar reading about 10 years ago, but had always been fine since being keto.
@NovusDies No, the doctor isn't a weight loss doctor, he's my GP, but he believes in LCHF and didn't look upset when I said I'm normally keto. I definitely don't intend to 'cheat', but I would like to get the readings that I would normally get. Or that I would have got 4 weeks ago. I don't want false bad results There's nothing bad going on with me, I just mentioned to him that one of my brothers had died of a stroke so he wanted to check me out. He said he was happy to wait for a while before I test, but when I said '2 weeks?' he said it may take longer than that. He didn't say how long. I should have asked him.
@Justin_7272 He didn't specify. I think he just meant cholesterol because we know blood sugar goes back down quickly. He did tell me that it's not good to go in and out of keto, which I know, but it has done me good to hear it from a formal source. His words were 'undo the damage' though.1 -
If there is nothing seriously wrong with you what medical reason do you have for believing that you won't get somewhat similar results today that you would have gotten a month ago?
From what my doctor has told me some of the health markers are a reflection of the last 3 months.
It is tough losing a sibling. Sorry to hear that.7 -
@NovusDies thank you, yes it was hard and very sad for the life that he never had (even though he was in his mid-40s). He'd always had his medical problems.
And no, nothing wrong with me. I'm at the top of the overweight category, but used to be obese for most of my adult life. I'm fit and strong and my blood markers were excellent last time I was checked, 18 months ago.
The doctor said the word damage so I don't really know what he meant. He just said that 2 weeks back on keto probably wouldn't 'undo the damage'. I'd asked for 2 weeks before I took the blood test and that was his reply. He'd only just found out about my brother's passing from a stroke, even though it was 15 years ago. The doctor just wanted to make sure that I wasn't headed the same way, even though he knows I'm LCHF (usually!!!). I'll take the blood test in about 3 weeks and see how it compares to the ones from January 2018.0
