calories burned on Fitbit n exercise

do u just let the Fitbit sync with its teps and cals burned or do u also add ur workouts in too? I just dont want to be putting in an overage of cals burned and thinking I have those extra cals when I dont. help!

I don't log any exercise, I just let the fitbit sync. BUT - my only exercise really is walking so the Fitbit does a good job there. If you are doing other kinds of exercise maybe it would be less accurate and you'd need to separately log.1

If you do non step based exercise you should log it, some people log on FitBit , I put mine on MFP. It doesn’t really matter because if the two systems are synced they will reconcile. It doesn’t double count - the system calculates your exercise burn and then compares to what FitBit says you had burned during that time period (it doesn’t know what kind of exercise you’re doing just that you’re moving and your heart rate is increasing) and then makes an adjustment.
