Wait time to eat after walking?

Is there a wait time to eat after walking? I walk briskly, almost a half walk, half run for 30-40 minutes 3-4 days a week. After a walk should you wait a specific amount of time like 30 minutes to eat? Thanks for any help.

Are you worried about digestion? I've heard of waiting to exercise after eating, but not the other way around.
I just eat when I'm hungry. Sometimes I even eat while walking/hiking.4 -

Yes exactly, worried about getting sick eating too quickly after a walk. I walked before, 31 minutes and was hungry when I got home so I ate. Actually about 30 minutes earlier than I normally eat lunch. Everything seems fine but I wondered if there was conventual wisdom on if it's a good or bad idea.. Thanks for the post.0 -
The only reason to worry about meal timing is if you personally get some kind of digestive upset. Otherwise, there’s no reason why you have to eat at a particular time after a workout.5

Excellent, thank you. Good to know. I upped my calories starting today because I'm down 70 pounds with just 12 to go to goal weight. Going from 1,500-1,600 to to 2,000 or so. Slowly transitioning to weight maintenance.6 -
There is a theory that you are more receptive to glycogen replenishment in the 30 minutes or so immediately following strenuous exercise hence the idea of recovery snacks etc (my tri club jokes around that we race for chocolate milk!) however given that you're time spent exercising shouldn't be getting you anywhere close to glycogen depletion I wouldn't worry about it too much.
If your workouts start getting longer and more intense (most people have enough stored glycogen to get through 90 minutes of moderate exercise) you may want to revisit this but for now go with what works for you.2
