Bro split vs P/P/L?

My fitness goals are to be more aesthetic. Currently I’m 6’3” and 215lbs. I’ve been lifting for a little over a year and am wondering which would be better for me? Thanks!

Aesthetic meaning lower body fat? Just cut cals to stay in a deficit. You need more volume and frequency to build muscle so either bro splits or ppl can work depending on how you set it up1

Yes sorry I should have been more specific. And how much of a deficit do you suggest? Another concern I have to figure out to is my rest. I work a swing shift where every week is 1 first shift 2 second shifts and 2 third shifts🤦🏼♂️0

Start at 500 cal deficit. If you're losing more than 2lbs a week consistently then go back to 350. You just need one day rest between muscle groups. Key thing is be consistent in diet and workouts3

I think it will really depend more on the specifics of the P/P/L and the bro-split.
For the year you've been at it, how structured has your routine been, is it following a progressive overload scheme? If you're not yet at the level of intermediate lifts, you might not even see much benefit from either program over one with less frequency. I believe in novice lifters there isn't much of a volume and frequency effect.
Looking aesthetic will indeed be a lot about your actual body fat percentage. Your BMI puts you at just into the overweight category. Getting to a lower weight will probably make a lot of aesthetic differences.
Emphasis should be put on that losing more than 2 pounds consistently - a proper deficit will probably drop a lot in the first week as you lose glycogen and the associated water.0 -

I wouldn't recommend either regardless. There is better programming out there available.
