I usually maintain a heart rate of 180-190 for at least 35 min of intense cardio every other day. Is this dangerous? Also, don't you burn more calories the harder your working..What is all this about staying in your target heart rate zone? It feels like I'm not doing anything..Any advice greatly appreciated!

The rule of thumb is 220-age for men and 226-age for women as a safe upper limit for you heart rate. I got mine up in the 180s during Insanity and was perfectly fine. Don't worry about the target heart rate zone: it's fairly meaningless, all things considered. How are you determining your heartrate? If you are using the cardio machines, the readouts are often very inaccurate. Consider getting a heart rate monitor if you haven't already.

    Actually for women it's 206 minus 88 percent of your age (206 - (.88 x age))

But I think it probably can vary from person to person based on your fitness level. I have a fairly low resting heart rate and if I get up past 160-170 while exercising I really struggle with dizziness and feeling nauseous.

If you're concerned about over training the best way to test that is to take your resting heart rate right when you wake up (before you get out of bed) track it and if start to notice it increasing you are probably overtraining. I'm not an expert though, consult with your doctor :)
