Yesterday morning after overdoing my calorie intake I went from 195.6 to 196.6. So to try and get back on track I did a dance workout for 30 minutes.. went for a 15 minute walk.. 30 minute run.. followed by another 15 minute walk. I usually dont run so I figured that should burn the extra fat relatively easy.. I stayed somewhere between 1100 and 1200 calories and when I got on the scale this morning.. 196.6 It didnt even budge 😣

Be patient. Water weight will destroy you if you let it.

Also, the weight on the scale today reflects food from 2 days ago. The complete digestion process takes roughly 36 hours, my recent research shows.

Chances are the weight gain is from water retention and not fat (unless you exceeded your maintenance by 3500 calories). The exercise you performed which is new may have also created some water retention. Get back to your recommended calorie deficit, drink water and have patience.

you did NOT put weight on overnight. even if you "overdid" things.

it's water fluctuations. don't overdo the under eating to compensate as this can set off a restrict-binge cycle hard to get off of.

weight loss is a long term goal. the scale doesn`t just weight fat but water weight, waste, and lots of other stuff you have little control on. The food you ate may have been saltier leading to extra TEMP water retention and more food would equal more waste in your system TEMPORARILY.

get a weight trending app and some patience. the numbers on a scale on any given data are strictly data points, look at your over trend and don`t change your routine based on data points. the scale on any given day will go up and down, that's sadly just how it goes.
