Anyone else feel like they're being done in by their own hormones.. I can eat as little as 1200 calories and maintain.. not lose weight.. with 1500 calories which is less than my supposed bmr.. I gain. Can't win.. 😣

You need to look at long term trends. Short term, weight has more to do with sodium, carbs, hormones, muscle soreness, etc. than the number of calories you consume.

Usually PMS symptoms come with a lot of water weight gain. Stick with your normal calorie amount, don't try to compensate. It should get better a week after your cycle starts, if it's like mine.

Most women gain or maintain during their cycles. It is normal for the body to retain more water. But it doesn't have anything to do with your actual fat loss. If you are in a calorie deficit, your body is still losing fat even if it is. It reflected yet on the scale. It will show up later in the month once the water weight is gone.

Have you tried reducing your sodium intake? I had bad PMS; especially water weight, bloating, and cramps; and started eating less salt. The symptoms were significantly reduced. If you are craving foods, perhaps bank calories from a week before to allow for extra food or just plan to eat at maintenance a few days each month. Every woman is different. You need to figure out what works with your body but that was my experience.

Menopause is wonderful! None of the cycling of hormones and all it entails. It has been 10 years now and I love it.
