Fun With Faire Food

The faire is here next week! Which raises some important questions.

If I eat the soft serve cone coated in 24K gold, does gold have calories? Do you poop gold bricks?

How much protein is in scorpion pizza? Or the bug bowl, which is ice cream topped with assorted insects?

How many life choices will I question following the consumption of a deep fried cheesy ramen dog?

What the heck is an octopus pop? And why?

Why are deep fried oreos the most delicious food in the world?

How many free pancakes can one human resist? ;_;

Gonna need to do 1000 squats to work off all this deep fried food and pancakes.

My question is why did you leave out the ribbon potato chips, and how is there no limit to the amazing things people can do with a potato?

My googling suggests that gold leaf has no nutritive value or calories. I wonder if you'll see, errr, gold flecks.

It is a good idea to wait at least 2-3 days after a fair before judging your life choices. Or anything else for that matter.

I am a sucker for a belly-bomber (ie zeppoli, ie funnel cake) and if I start with that, the leaden weight in my gut tends to limit my desire for much else, though I'd bet I could manage a deep fried cheesy ramen dog, that sounds awesome.

I always assure myself that all the extra steps at least partially makes up for any damage done.

Surprisingly few potato based foods this year. Mostly pickles, actually. Pickle pizza, pickle cotton candy, pickle ice pop, and the snickle, which appears to be a fried tortilla containing a hotdog, a pickle and a Snickers bar. *blech*

I like pickles, but not that much.

If I eat the soft serve cone coated in 24K gold, does gold have calories? Do you poop gold bricks? I say you'll sweat it out and become like that lady from the James Bond movie.

How much protein is in scorpion pizza? Or the bug bowl, which is ice cream topped with assorted insects? Bugs are high in protein prolly.

How many life choices will I question following the consumption of a deep fried cheesy ramen dog? None life choices. You are right on track.

What the heck is an octopus pop? And why? I'm not weeaboo enough to answer this question, but I know enough to think the weeaboos would know.

Why are deep fried oreos the most delicious food in the world? Because https://youtu.be/fhXSz_07Pbk

How many free pancakes can one human resist? ;_; None pancakes. Stomach will exploded. You are right on track.

If I eat the soft serve cone coated in 24K gold, does gold have calories? Do you poop gold bricks? Yes, but the intestinal distress will negate them.

How much protein is in scorpion pizza? 2.73g Or the bug bowl, which is ice cream topped with assorted insects? 7.23g

How many life choices will I question following the consumption of a deep fried cheesy ramen dog? 12

What the heck is an octopus pop? One very cold mollusc And why? Less sticky when cold

Why are deep fried oreos the most delicious food in the world? They aren't. Fried food should be crunchy.

How many free pancakes can one human resist? ;_; 0

Gonna need to do 1000 squats to work off all this deep fried food and pancakes. Don't forget the situps

This is the saddest statement ever :( I don't like most pickles, and the only thing I really HAVE to have at a fair is those chips.

The best local "fair" here is the Garlic Festival: https://gilroygarlicfestival.com. No fresh potato chips, but those are the best garlic fries ever.

A lor of deep fried food on a stick (Minnesota State Fair). A new one this year is a deep fried pickle on a stick. They have had the deep fried sliced pickles for quite a few years now, though.

I was hoping it was an octopus shaped cake pop. I could go for that.

this particular type is coated in a sweet-spicy marinade and there's a hard boiled quail egg stuffed in there. Texture is similar to calamari.

It's a pretty mild fishy flavor. Gotta be cooked just right or it's rubber though, and that texture is gross.

Couldn't eat tentacle onna stick. The suction cups freak me out.
