Hi,
Do you have a book full of calorie counting in that you recommend?
I did have Pocket Calorie Count but it’s so old I thought I’d treat myself to a new one.
Do you recommend any?
Thanks

It is so much easier to use the internet. The USDA database has pretty much any food you could want to know calories for.6

The app, MFP , is a good one.3

I use Connie T Netzer’s “The Complete Book of Food Counts”. I’ve used it for years and have found it pretty accurate. I often double check MFP counts that seem suspiciously low or high.1

I would use an app (either this app or a similar one) rather than a book. The app does the math for you when you weigh out your food, so you don’t need to calculate how many calories were in your 53 grams of apple or whatever. You just enter 53 grams of apple. A book will also not list every single food you can buy, and it’s a lot harder to carry with you. Plus, this app is free4

If one wants to double check MFP's entries, the USDA site (as someone mentioned earlier) is great.1
