MFP has assigned me 2450 calories a day, I’m lightly active, wish to loose 2lb pr week, have put my correct weight in, have also put my goal weight in. I’ve checked on google how many calories a woman of my age should have and it’s loads less than MFP has given me? Any info on this would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Are you sure you entered those stats correctly as 2450 calories for 2 pounds a week loss does seem excessive for most females? That is maintenance calories of nearly 3500! Also, safe weight loss is recommended at 1% of your body weight so double check that 2 pounds a week is a realistic goal. You really want to lose the least muscle mass possible because muscle is very hard to regain once lost, especially for females. I am speaking from experience here. Some of us learn the hard way.
If you give us your stats with height, weight and age we can be of more help though.

The heavier you are the more you burn in a day, it will reduce as you lose weight. It takes alot of energy to move your body around when you carry extra weight. Trust in the system.

Thanks Lillymoo01, I’ve checked my stats and it still comes out with the same. Here they are 21st 1lb, 5ft 9,age 45. I’m lightly active and wish to loose lb pr week, I’m open to any suggestions. I weigh every Saturday, the first week I lost 4lb, yesterday I stayed the same.

Hmm, that’s a little odd. That calorie amount would be about right for a 1lb per week loss, but not for 2...

Seems about right for lightly active 295lb, 59", 45yo female to lose 1lb a week.

Your original post days 2lbs. Your one later says "loose lb pr week"

In any case you've averaged 2lb per so far.

You may want to use a weight trend app or website and collect more data points to better visualize your trend..
