Calling all Polar FT 60 HRM users

Hello MFP friends,

I am on week three of connecting with people through MFP and week three of using my heart rate monitor to train with again.

I am on the maximize fitness program and I am looking to connect with others who are using this heart rate monitor and the training program to improve their fitness and reach their weight loss goals.

My story is in my profile...feel free to add me : )

I've been using this HRM for over a year now. But I'm faced with the problem of training too much in zone 3. I can't seem to stay out of that zone if I'm actually doing an exercise. At the moment, I'm training for both a quarter and half marathon and running takes my heart rate to a consistent 170 bpm. I've tried playing with the ranges, but without knowing what my exact max heart rate is, its all guessing. I use it simply for the calories burn estimates.

When I didn't have something specific to train for, I got a kick out of the awards displayed on the watch for meeting goals.

I too have a challenge staying out of zone 3 when running. I have ran three half marathons...when I actually start training seriously again it is going to be a challenge to keep my heart rate out of zone 3. Right now I am trying to stick with the program so I am doing a lot of run/walks intervals....once I get in better shape I should be able to run harder and not have my heart rate shoot up into zone 3. Good luck with your training.

Mine is similar. I'm always in zone 3, unless I am warming up or cooling down. I am sure I need to change my goals on the thing, but I haven't bothered. I also don't wear it for walking or anything. I also use a fitbit and just don't feel that the walking HR is worth adding in to MFP. If I walk, the steps are calculated and those are transferred over as calories through the app.
