Log your food. Use a food scale.

Log your exercise. Eat more on those days.

Weigh yourself (most prefer daily) and log that.

Do that every day (or on most days) and achieve your goals.

Do what feels normal for you losing weight. Do not get stuck on an idea you need to do something vastly different or what you see other people doing.

I'm pretty much on my own. I dont have a lot of support or confinance in myself. I just find myself falling back into old habits.

I'm on my own, too. Actually makes it easier for me. Nobody can argue with my food choices, etc.

Do you fill out the food diary?

Patience and dedication > motivation. Just remember it won't happen overnight. Make small changes and build new habits. Don't try to do anything short-term to lose weight that you aren't ok with sticking to long-term.

This community, if you find the right people, is good at providing support.

I also think it is a good idea to try and be kind enough to yourself to avoid needing things like willpower and external support as much as possible. Is there a way to incorporate your "old habits" into your new ones?

So we should all send you FR's? :innocent:

MINDFULNESS! We could all use more of it, but those of us who go back to bad habits really need to hone these skills. Also, strive to develop your mind to want your health, fitness, and wellness (mental, emotional, social, self-worth, etc) more than you want the things that sabotage you. Doing this is different for each person, so explore around. For me, each time I am tempted, I imagine a Scale of Want. On one side of the scale, put on the sabotage. On the other, put on wellness goals. If the scale seems heavier on the side of the sabotage, you need to work on your mentality. If the scale dips heavier on your goals, awesome. Use whatever imagery works for you. The scale works for me. :-)

Agree with this 100%. I've been on MFP for eight years and I always fell off the wagon after a few weeks or months. I finally started participating in the forums and it has made all the difference for me. People are supportive and incredibly knowledgeable. Lots and lots of success stories!

The waiting list is long and if you do make the cut you can count on me to ignore 99.9 percent of everything that happens in the news feed.

I am not the "right" people.

Feel free to add me! 😊 For some reason, I can’t add people. I was able to a few weeks ago but now I can’t.
