Struggling- WW vs Keto vs ???

I have been trying to work with MFP and feel like I need to shake things up. Debating on Weight Watchers which is 50% off right now or go to the Keto side which seems so drastic. Have gained all my weight back in a year and need to change things....appreciate your thoughts....

What has worked for you to lose weight in the past? What type of eating and foods do you prefer? What macro ratio makes you feel healthiest? Do you do better with a lot of guidelines, rules and structure or do you prefer freedom to make all your own choices? I like structure, the more the better. Some people will immediately rebel when given that structure. Choose something that works well with your body and your personality.

I used to be a huge fan of WW. I still think the weekly meetings can be invaluable for support and accountability. In fact, I think weekly meetings of any plan will probably result in the most success on any diet plan. I'm not a fan of the online program because it lacks the critical support/accountability of the live meetings. I don't like their new eating plan (I'm a binge eater so giving me a list of healthy foods to choose from doesn't help...I already eat healthy food, just way too much of it) and I despise the whole touchy/feely/spiritual focus they've moved to. I liked when they'd give you a new recipe and discuss strategies for eating out, for example.

I'm not a fan of keto because I always feel absolutely awful when in ketosis and usually end up unable even to rise from my bed without fainting. Lots of people love it, though and I'd definitely recommend anyone with epilepsy give it a good try. If your body thrives on ketosis, you might give it a try.

I've tried fasterwaytofatloss.com to try to shake things up when I was losing focus. I think it was a great program and did get me back on track, but it was more than my precarious health could handle.

Right at the moment, I'm just having food delivered each day and plugging along. I know how to cook. I know what I should eat. I know how much to eat. I just don't want to do it so it's nice to have meal delivery keeping me in check.

I gained a little weight with an injury a long time ago, and I tried weight watchers years ago. I didn't like it. I was always hungry. I didn't like the meetings. I didn't like having to pay for a weight loss system. After three weeks of feeling like I was starving, I'd lost 0.8lbs. I quit.

I got really into nutrition and found that just eating whole foods, less processed foods made me feel great. Trained myself to eat until satisfied and not eat until stuffed. I dropped the weight from the injury quick.

My food motto mostly became, "If there's a commercial for it, I don't eat it."

Now, I eat keto. And it makes me feel great. But the decision to go keto was after acquiring a rare disease, where carbs (sugars and starches) actually cause me a lot of pain, discomfort, and bloat. I don't find it restricting at all, but I can see how it is not for everyone!

Weight Watchers may be helpful for you if you like the accountability and the group meeting type of things.

That would never work for me. Plus I knew I didn't want to spend money on something that I could do by myself for free.

No matter what "system" or "diet" you do it requires consistency and mindfulness and T.I.M.E. (Things I Must Earn.)

I think a lot of people tend to have one or two or a few days of over-eating and then give themselves permission to keep eating in a hedonistic way. For me, that was one big thing I had to address.

One day or a week doesn't mean I keep doing it. I get back on track as soon as possible. Over time I trained myself to get back on track the very next day. Stepping on the body weight scale daily and recording it is a great way to help break that pattern.

I'd rather spend my money on healthy real foods than any group. This community is the perfect solution for me.
