I’ve been so obsessive about losing body fat. Since I am skinny fat (24 male 6’ 1” ~151 lbs with about 15% body mass). I’ve been doing Keto for 5-6 days with a 5% net carb, 20% protein, 75% fat. I was wondering if the Keto diet has helped with skinny fat or people in general and if I should continue. Also this is a 1500 daily calorie goal.

If you are in a healthy range for your height you would be far better focusing on trying to build some muscle rather than trying to lose weight. 1500 is pretty low for a 6 foot plus fella.

You might be better placed focusing on your protein intake and a strength training program, rather than continuing to attempt weight loss and risking losing more muscle.

The best way to improve your body composition (or deal with "skinny fat") is to gain muscle. I personally would not recommend keto to in this case as muscle building is hard enough even with adequate carb intake which really helps it along. Keto is fine when trying to lean down in a deficit.

Based on your stats I would probably run a very lean bulk just a hair above maintenance. Follow a proven lifting program. Get adequate protein and carbs. You definitely and absolutely do not want to keep losing weight or eating anywhere near what you are eating right now.

    1. I doubt you are 'skinny fat.'
    2. 1500 calories is not enough. I'm a 6 ft tall woman who is active and I need like 2200-2300 to maintain at 152-154. If I aim to lose I try not to go below like 1700-1800 because then I start binging or also become cranky.
    3. @sardelsa as usual gives bang on advice.
