Increase then decrease calories? is it a good thing?

So I was wondering, if youve been on the same diet for over a year, 1200 calories for instance. Lost 17 kg. Can increasing your calorie intake for one week then start the same calories ( 1200 ) next week again be a good thing? To like kickstart your weightloss again? Im asking cuz im unsure of this:o Thanks for help:)

How much do you have to lose? Is your weight stalled? If so, patience is your best friend.

I don't think it will kick start your weight loss.

But might be good for the mental break, bit like a little holiday from it.

Like people take a break from studying and then get back to it.

I would suggest it has a defined time, say, 2 weeks, and of course you still keep an eye on your intake and be sensible about it, it's not carte blanche to go overboard.

I do this when I go on holiday ( vacation) as it isn't practical to log and even estimating would be widely inaccurate.
Then I resume when I get home.

It can be a good thing as a diet break but nothing else. You can't kickstart weight loss because your body will never stop burning fat as long as it needs energy that is not being provided by food.

12 months is a long time though and a 2 week break might do you a lot of good.
