I have new toys. Heavy Jump Rope and "Harmonic Hose"

I get bored doing the same exercises, and I love to make exercise equipment cheaper than I can buy it. I made a heavy jump rope (about 1 lb, 3 oz) with 8 feet of vinyl coated stranded steel cable and the good swivel ends from another jump rope. I'm happy doing sets of 20, 5 or 6 times. Hard work. but a lot of fun. I cut rings of pvc pipe to ride on the rope so that as the rope is swung, the pvc plastic hits the ground and protects the vinyl coated cable. Cardio jump ropes. Another cheap substitute is my "Harmonic Hose" a 50 ft (or longer) vinyl garden hose, filled with pea gravel and water and capped off on both ends. I loop it around a concrete planter on my drive way, and it is my Battle Rope. Another cheap substitute. I think it cost me about $10 for the caps, adapter and pea gravel. It weight about 15-16 lbs and is a bit lighter than nylon battle ropes, but just right for me.
