Why a gallon a day? That's a huge amount of water.1

Is there a reason you've chosen 1 gallon? Is that the right amount for you? Is that too much for you or too little?
The idea that you should drink x amount of water per day has largely been debunked. Your body has a perfectly adequate way of telling you when you need to hydrate called 'thirst' so just drink when you're thirsty.
You can double check to make sure you're adequately hydrated by checking your pee. Pale straw is what you're looking for. Darker than that an you should pay more attention to your thirst response, lighter than that and you're at risk of overhydrating which can have other health complications due to electrolyte imbalance.4 -
OP, here's a chart to evaluate your urine colour:
There are dangers in over-hydrating including Hyponatremia which can be fatal.
Bottom line? No reason or need to be drinking more water than your body requires. Doing so has no magical benefits.

I'll stick to herbal tea or no sugar fizzy drinks0

Some people think drinking lots of water is healthy for you or a magical weight loss0

OP, that is a lot of water. Please don't stress about drinking that much, and if your pee is consistently clear or you start getting headaches, cut back a bit. Especially if your diet is lower in sodium, that much water could cause electrolyte imbalances.0
