I guess I should do the official intro post thing...

I am not really new to the site. I've used some of the UA fitness apps in the past but haven't been active in a while. I've been on the yo-yo ride for most of my adult life, starting at 170 lbs when I was 19. I won't bore everyone with the long drawn out story but I went from 170 to 265, then back to 190, then up to 315, then back down to 200, going up and down between 200 and 220 for a few years. About 18 months ago I separated from my wife and things kinda went off the rails at that point.

I spent most of those 18 months severely depressed, drinking a lot and eating a lot of junk food to numb myself to the pain and before I knew it, I was back up to 245. Recently though as everything is getting closer to being finalized, I've been feeling the fog lift and feeling more motivation to work on myself physically and mentally. I'm starting a blog site to document the journey and came back to this site for the food diary, then poking around the site I found the message boards and thought why not? It's motivating to me to help keep others motivated, so let's get a group going and keep each other motivated and accountable!

Feel free to add me, and I'll start adding people once I figure out how this whole thing works. :D

I'm in. I had lapband surgery in 2009 got down to 160lbs. Three years ago I started having issues keeping food down so I just ate what would go and got back up to 282lbs. I had to get it removed because it was attached to my liver, stomach wall and other organs. So I opted for the vertical sleeve. Next month will be a year and I have lost 52lbs. I thought it should be more because months have gone by and nothing. Well it turns out I was not eating enough protein and have dropped 8lbs this week. Of course most of it is protein shakes because I can never eat in a day what I should. Best of luck to us.

Hi! I’m falling back into some bad eating habits lately and would love some motivational/accountability friends. I’m a runner and have the exercise part down, but you can’t out run a bad diet and I’m not going to lose anything if I don’t get the food in check

    Welcome back!

    To add friends on MFP:

    1) Click on the username in the left sidebar. A window showing the username will open.
    2) Click on the username again. The user's profile will open.
    3) Click on the "Add Friend" button on the user's profile page. There is an option to send a message along with the request. That's always a good idea - just a short note mentioning where you saw the user, some common interests or goals, etc.

Any of you are welcome to add me as a friend. Please add a note telling me a little bit about yourself! Always ready to share support and encouragement.

Im a bit on the same boat. My weight has fluctuated so much over the last few years. 20lbs or so. Also going through marriage issues so my comfort was food. I need to get my sh@t together and better my
health. Motivation and friends always help.
