Re-starting !

It’s not really a start - it’s a re-start.
Some years back with the help of Fitbit and MyFitnessPal I lost quite a few pounds. However it happened my Fitbit got misplaced and MyFitnessPal drifted away like a stick down a river. But I’m back !
I weighed myself one morning and discovered I’d crept steadily up to 15 st. 4 lb , I’ve managed to get that down to 14 st 10 lb but at 71 years that can’t be good. I would described myself as fit; my main exercise is maintaining a very large garden and walking. I can’t swim and have never joined a gym.
So during the Amazon Prime Sale I bought a new Withings Steel HR - Smart Watch and their Smart Scales. With their help, MFP help and my iPhone I’ve set an initial goal set of 14 stone, then 13 st 8 lb and long term 13 st. I am using the 16/8 diet. I’ve never swam or used a gym. Aim 3lb a week until I 14 st. then 2 lb a week
Basically any advice, are my aims realistic, any particular Forums on here you’d recommend, do’s/don’t, web resources? That type of thing.
But as my late mother use to say it boils down to putting less in your mouth !
