Hip dip question (pictures in post)

Okay so I know you cant really get rid of your hip dips and butt training can emphasize them. My body type is supposedly a figure 8 because of the shelf like appearance of my hips. I've had a baby 3 years ago and I noticed I've kept 10 pounds of baby fat and it's all located on my upper hips/navel area, upper arms and, my thighs so I know you cant control fat distribution
. My question is if I do abs work outs and tone my tummy will it reduce my upper hips/navel area? I dont expect dramatic results because my body is what it is but I hoped at least lose an inch in that area to have a little more confidence and make it easier to accept my body as is.

Where fat comes off with weight loss is up to genetics. You can help spot maintain muscle while in a deficit as you lose fat, but there is no guarantee fat will come off where you want it. Also hip dips are largely genetic and down to bone structure. I mean you can build up the gluteus medius which can help, but muscle building can also emphasize it more for some people. For me they have improved with muscle gain in the glutes and go down with weight loss and lower bodyfat.
I think you look great and honestly when you wear your pants up you look very normal to me. However if you want to work on body composition changes I would recommend you follow a lifting program and eat at maintenance, also make sure you are getting enough protein.

You may want to consider recomp.

From those photos you don't seem to need to lose any weight, but trimming away excess fat and gaining muscle might help you achieve what you want to.4 -
