Old Chick Learning New Tricks

Hello!
I’m a serial dieter, who’s been on every diet plan known to man since my teenage years. WLS 9 years ago helped me to lose 30 lbs., but it’s slowly creeping back on. Yesterday my new trainer at the gym told me to try this app. She’s lost 45 lbs using MFP. I have 30 plus years on her, and I told her that at this point in life I’m not looking to wear a 2-piece bathing suit. I’m just looking to be as healthy and balanced as possible as I enter (jogging) into the official ‘senior discount’ years!!

Hey I am in the same position. Lost about 85 pounds. Go to the gym weekly. Tried WW for a few years and was successful but since they changed been pretty much stagnant.

    Welcome to the community! <3

If you haven't already, read the stickies at the top of the getting started forum. Very informative and helpful.

MFP isn't a "diet". It's a platform that allows you the tools you need to stick to a way of eating that is sustainable for you.

Stay in a calorie deficit and lose weight.

And for the record, I'm 61.

I am almost 65 and in 7 pounds will be down 100. MFP helps me stay in my calorie range. I have had stops and starts but always come back here when I want to lose weight. It helps.

You can do this! I used MFP to lose around 50 pounds, obese to healthy weight, at age 59-60, and have maintained a healthy weight since, so far (I'm 63).

    Best wishes!
