New meds, gaining weight.

Please only people with this type or experience of similar reply. My psychiatrist prescribed Abilify, he told me to take them for 6 weeks and see how it goes. It’s been 3 weeks and I gained 10lbs and stopped exercising. I know it’s not an excuse, I’m hungry all the damn time and I’m so sleepy, I can fall asleep ANYWHERE. I don’t know what to do. Anyone with similar experience to meds? What did you do? Thank you.

I'm sorry you're having a tough time. I haven't been on that particular med, but I've had plenty that affected me negatively. I called my doctor right away to let him know that I couldn't continue.

There's no reason you should continue like this but call the doctor, don't just go cold turkey.
