I fit in 10s today

Its been 18 to 20 years since i was wearing 10s. Today i had some spare time so i thought i would go try on those 12s that were to snug a month and a half ago. Not only did they fit but they had a little wiggle room so i went back out and grabbed a few 10s. They looked so small. But i figured try them on at least you'll know how far you have to go. To my amazement they fit a little snug but they went on and zipped with no problem. I felt like crying because in my mind i am still fat. I do see that clothes look better and i no longer hate trying on clothes like i did before. But i still think i am that heavy woman. I wore 8s in high school and now i see if i continue i may wear them again. It always seemed like i was stuck. I am no where near my end goal weight but today was a success that gave me the motivation to keep going ro see that this isnt an unrealistic goal.

You’ve done wonderfully! These NSV’s are the best.
I’m in the process of getting back to my 8’s. I lost mega pounds in 2017 and maintained for about a year and a half. In retrospect, my difficulty was, as you mentioned, I still left fluffy, even though photos showed differently. It’s the mindset that defeated me, I think. That, and the fact I’ve no idea what my ideal weight should be. I slid down to 141, through 8 to 6, thinking that was great, but maintenance was oh so difficult. I was cranky and hungry much of the time. So I quit logging. Big big error! I should have stopped myself at 150, but I sailed through that. Up to 188 in about two years and when 12’s were getting snug, I kicked myself in the butt and began logging again. Since mid May, I’m down to 159. 9 to go, which makes me a size 8. At 5’10” I think that’s likely the lowest I should be. My collarbones are too prominent in the 140’s.
Sorry for the diversion here, but this all came to mind when I read ‘unrealistic goal’. I wish I would have stopped and maintained for a bit at size 10 before slugging on downward. It might have made maintenance easier for me. My advice would be to enjoy your size 10 for a bit....get used to how much you can eat and how much activity you need before sliding down again. I’m thinking of hanging around here for a bit, getting used to eating a bit more but still controlling my appetite. In 4 weeks we’re headed for a tour of Eastern Europe again and I’ve booked perhaps too many wine and food tours, but I hope my diminished appetite will allow me to savour and enjoy!
As I said, you’ve done well and I wish you success in reaching your goals! 😀8 -
