Garmin 235 Went Wacky

Something seems to have gone wacky with my Garmin 235 and tracking average pace. My running partner and I run together (and i mean next to each other) and her and my watch (she has an apple watch) are significantly different and my effort is not equaling what my watch is showing (its showing significantly slower than it "feels"). I've been a distance runner for over 10 years so do have a good idea of pace versus effort but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so what is the fix. I googled it and don't find much.

It's the running gods way of telling you to get a new watch.
Did the watch get updated recently? If not, maybe check for updates. Garmin is constantly tweaking (and breaking) things.1
