Calories in a chicken thigh - confused!

Hello everyone,

I have 4 chicken thighs, skin on, each weighing 140g.

The packet says ‘each portion as prepared’ are 229 calories.

Does this sound correct? I have no idea whether that means with skin on or off??

I know the calories in my marinade but can’t for the life of me work out how many calories to estimate per thigh, with skin or even without!!

Thanks for any help

FYI each weighs 140g but that’s with skin and bone

I love chicken thighs. They're fattier than the other cuts so that sounds about right.

    Skin on but boneless?

I just checked my entry. 4.5 oz. skinless boneless 273 calories.

I would take the bone out and weigh them and use an entry for chicken thighs, skin on, per 100g and put in whatever weight they are.

I use "Chicken, broilers or fryers, thigh, meat only, cooked, roasted", weigh my chicken before, and then subtract what I don't eat.

There is also an admin entry for with skin as well.

Unfortunately, the "verified" green check marks in the MFP database are used for both user-created entries and admin-created entries that MFP pulled from the USDA database. To find admin entries for whole foods, I get the syntax from the USDA database and paste that into MFP.

Note: any MFP entry that includes "USDA" was user entered.
