I have pretty much everything @ home.

Full Olympic lifting set up in the garage, including a full rack, safety squat bar, power lift bar and Olymmic lift bar, farmers walk bars, curl bars and trap squat bar plus about 1k # in free weights and a deadlift jack, an up to 75# weighted vest, ankle wts, weighted gloves, various other accesories, including straps and a lifting belt and an adjustable gym quality bench.

In the garage, I also have a dip rack, a GHD rack and sissy squat rack, a 50x50# adjustable dumbell set and all of the racks needed to store/hold the wts/bars.

In the house, I have a Concept 2 rower, a LeMond Rev Master Pro spin bike and a sit up bench.

And, in thrle backyard, I've got a battling rope setup, a sled w/270# of wts and a 200# tractor tire w/3 different wt sledge hammers.

This is why I never need to go to a gym.

    Handweights (3-10lbs)
    Resistance bands
    Stability ball
    Yoga mat
A few fun DVD workout programs
Mostly just some "fill in" pieces for quick pick-me-ups and when weather closes down the town!

C2 Rower, AirDyne Pro (Assault Bike), Plyo Box, Resistance Bands, 25 kg KB, an Adjustable KB, Adjustable DBs (including the Bowflex ones up to 50 lbs each), Battle Ropes and some door frame thing my kids bought me that I haven't set up yet. Ski Erg and a Power Tower and I'd be OK for life.

    Desk treadmill
    Adjustable dumbbells
    TRX
    Pull-up bar
    Various size resistance bands
Climber (haven't had much use for...on the chopping block as far as trending towards minimalism)
Foam roller + yoga blocks (debatable as "fitness equipment"...used more like furniture...lol)

Possible future investments: barbell + weight plates

Some free wt, exercise bands, stability ball, JM DVDs, Yoga mat, and foam roller. All stored in a closet and out of sight.

I don't use any of these things too often because I prefer to work out at the gym. For me, working out at home is boring and doesn't inspire or motivate me much.

I find gyms are almost always brightly lit, with terrible music playing slightly too loud. Serious sensory overload! It tires me out before I've even started.

I agree...more likely to push myself in the gym & gives a sense of belonging/somewhat of a social activity too for myself at least.

Yeah, I workout 7 hours a week. 5.5 of that is at home. The other 90 minutes is once a week at an LA Fitness. My home gym blows theirs away. I am downgrading to go there but I need to get away from the house once a week for sanity.

That quote will apply if your house is set up with all the equipment that you need to do a proper workout. I don't have the room or the desire to have workout equipment in my house. No basement, and the garage is for the cars. And I like to get out of the house since I am already retired.

I am 75 years old and I workout at a frequency and at a pace, that many ladies much younger than me can't probably keep up with. This comment is based by some of the comments posted in MFP. Although many of them do much more than I can and do; and that is fine.

Kudos to you @sgt1372 for having a full home-gym and enjoying your workouts. Keep up the good work, and I will do the same with mine :) at the gym!

    Kudos to you too!

FWIW, I'm 68 (69 in 2 months) and my comment regarding internal motivation has nothing to do w/equipment.

It's about the will to persevere and to seek to accomplish your goals regardless of the barriers (internal or external).

Whether you succeed or not is not the point, it's the will to succeed (doing the best you can with what you've) that matters most.

Good luck to you in your continuing journey.

I actually want a BodyBlade. I know quite a few PTs that swear by them for shoulder rehab and Rotator Cuff tear prevention. Is that Kristen Wiig BTW??

I don't have a space for a gym in my home, so I do my workouts other places. However, I keep plenty of good stretching equipment because I need it when I'm not working out. I have:

    🌸 A yoga mat.
    🍞 2 yoga blocks.
🥨 A yoga strap (love this for deep stretching)
❤ Foam roller (a must for breaking up lactic acid)
🦶 Foot roller (not sure if this counts, but it's wonderful)

I live in central London, which is the equivalent of living in Manhattan in the States. No room for any exercise equipment in my place, so I go to a gym 3 blocks away. The hubby has a yoga mat that rolls up and fits in a corner, and some resistance bands hanging on a coat peg.

We finally got a doorway pull up bar, it's nice. Hope it holds up. In our next house we plan on starting a full home gym, but not for now.
