    "consistency," if that means doing the exact same workout over and over, is pretty much the thing best guaranteed not to be effective, if effective means achieving progress.

    Careful there. Situps are not really a very good core exercise, and it's easy to injure your neck doing them incorrectly.

    aye, try crunches instead of situps. Its far easier. Not the same exercise though.
